Author’s Instructions for final paper submissions 

All authors who have been accepted must register for the conference and attend the conference to present their paper. Authors who do not attend the conference to present their papers, or do not arrange for a co-author or knowledgeable colleague to present their paper in the absence of the primary author, will not have their paper published in the IEEE IEL and IEEE Xplore, per latest IEEE policy.

1. Modify the final version of the manuscript according to the reviewers’ comments

REMEMBER: the final version of a paper in the format given above CANNOT EXCEED 6 PAGES. NO EXCEPTION IS ALLOWED.

2. Register for the conference and pay your registration fee

You MUST register and pay the registration fee before uploading your final paper. Registrations are handled through EDAS system ( In order to pay your registration fee, please go to your home page of your EDAS account and proceed through registrations available next to your submitted paper. Please do NOT forget to update your membership info or student status through your EDAS account. The student registrations will be requested to send a copy of their scanned student IDs.

Papers will be included in the proceedings only if at least one author has registered and paid the registration fee. One registration covers only one (1) paper. To guarantee inclusion of a second paper, the author must register using  two (2) papers registration option on EDAS system. Authors paying student registration fee will be limited to one paper only.

Here is  step-by-step instructions for making your payment in EDAS system.

2.1 Log into your EDAS account and click on the money icon under Registration category for your accepted paper entry


2.2 From the list of avaible registrations select one of them based on your status (e.g. Member, Student, etc.) by clicking the shopping cart icon.

2.3 From the list of payment options e.g. Visa, Master Card, select one by clicking on the icons.

 If you did not specify your address information under your EDAS account, the system might direct you to update this information before the payment

2.4.  Enter the card number or other payment details

2.5 Click the pay button

2.6 You can only upload your final manuscript if you successfully made the payment AND signed the eCopyright form. In order to double check these, click on your paper title and review the details. Your paper should show the status “Registered and Paid” and your copyright form “Regular copyright, date signed” (Please see below for the detailed instructions on how to sign eCopyright form)

3. Generate the electronic version of the final manuscript using IEEE PDF express system. 

From the final manuscript formatted as instructed before, authors must generate the electronic FINAL version in PDF format. Regardless of its initial format, the file containing the final version of the paper must be transformed into PDF format and approved by the IEEE PDF express web tool (PDF files generated by means of other tools might not be acceptable).

4. Submit IEEE eCopyright through EDAS.

The IEEE is enforcing strict copyright rules. For your convenience, the copyright is made available electronically through EDAS (please see the copyright column on the paper entry in your account).  Authors who are not authorized to sign a copyright transfer form, should download the paper version of a copyright transfer form, fill it in, and ask an authorized person to sign it. Then, send the completed form to the IEEE SoSE 2015 Administrator

5 Upload the electronic version of the final manuscript, through EDAS by April 20th, 2015

With your Xplore compatible PDF, log in at EDAS web site. In order to upload your final paper, click the final upload icon and proceed with the instructions.


If authors like to post their papers electronically on any web site, any ftp site, or any other electronic dissemination technique, they must include the IEEE Copyright notice on the initial screen displaying the IEEE-copyrighted material.

2. An electronic version of the manuscript must be generated for the conference proceedings.

From the manuscript formatted as instructed above, authors must generate the electronic version in PDF format. Regardless of its initial format, the file containing the final version of the paper must be transformed in the PDF format using the IEEE PDF express web tool. PDF files generated by means of other tools are not acceptable.

To generate the IEEE Xplore compatible PDF file of your paper, follow these steps:

Create your IEEE PDF eXpress account by going to: and using Conference ID: 35525X

The first time you access the system, follow the link to New user. Please note that, in order to access the service, you need to allow the use of cookies from the PDF eXpress web site. Once you have registered as a new user:

A. upload the source file (containing your paper) for conversion

B. receive by e-mail the IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF of your paper. Once you’ve received your PDF file, upload it to EDAS

3. Submit your paper through EDAS system by February 1st, 2015  February 22nd, 2015. 

A. Once you receive your Xplore compatible PDF, log in at  and register your paper for SOSE2015 conference ( Note that if you don’t have an EDAS account, you should create one in order to upload your paper )

B. Follow the instructions on the screen after registration and upload your manuscript
